Happy V-Day everyone!

This last weekend we went to Ronda. It's small & southeastern of Sevilla. We went with our program so there were a lot of us but I like that because then we get tours and history on where we are.

Ronda is a city on hills and it had such an amazing view! Ronda is small && there isn't a whole lot to see there but it is one of the oldest cities in Spain and that's why we went. These next pictures are of the valley in the middle of the city with that huge beautiful bridge:

See I got so caught up in the amazing views here, that I accidentally stepping in wet cement...oops! But you know you just have to capture every moment of the trip.

Ronda also is known for the fact that they have the oldest bull fighting ring in all of Spain. Enjoy so beautiful pictures!

This is outside of the bullring

Kristin being the fighter && me the bull. Just couldn't resist

This is where the bull's come out to the ring; you stand at the top and pull the ropes to let them out. Each fighter is assigned 2 bulls to fight and kill and there is usually 3 fighters per event. It is kind of sad but it is part of the Spanish culture and therefore, I will go. once. The first fight is April 9.

&& everyone this is my Valentine!!! HAHA just kidding, this is Juan. He is one of the study aboard directors for my program. He just so happened to walking by so I grabbed a picture (the first one for him all semester so i'm special!!) && he is a looker and all us ohhh and awee over him so everyone hated me ;)

Then, since we were so close to the beach, about 1.5 hour bus ride, my roommate and a girl named Sara decided to go to Malaga for the rest of the weekend. It is a city on the beach && it's so beautiful, I'm so glad we got to go! It was all of our first hostel experience && thankfully it was an AMAZING one!!

Our hostel was right in the center of the city and it was above a bar. It was called Babia and it was so nice. We were in a "dorm" which is bunk beds but we had a 6 dorm room and it was nice. We only had one man in our room, but we didn't see him much so it was alright. This is the owner getting his salsa on, he was such a nice guy who truly cares about people. He gave us towels and free breakfast & was super nice.

These are some girls that we met in our hostel. On the left is Maddi who is studying in Malaga from the UK, then Bruna & Tina are from Brazil studying in Sevilla!! So we got their numbers and plan to hang out in Sevilla. They were all sooo awesome!

We our course went site seeing in Malaga. First we went to the Cathedral.

The outside, I wasn't sure if this guy was graffiti or not:

The inside:

the 4000 piece organ player (there are 2 of these)

This cathedral took 255 years to complete, which is over 100 years more than the one in Sevilla & its far smaller!!! It is actually not even finished, in the building of another tower, they ran out of money to build it. They were in the middle of gathering funds to complete it when they decided to give all that tower money to America during the American Revolution. So we must give thanks to the cathedral for helping us get out freedom!

Here is some Roman influence in a Roman Theatre:

&& this was just the outside of some building, it was not painted on but more of a fabric pulled taught. I dont know but it looks cool

&& It seems like every city has a Alcazar too! A fortress for those who forgot. But this one was called Alcazaba, not sure what that means but it was huge (we almost got lost)  && so pretty!

waterway throughout the entire Alcazaba

ancient bathtub?? This is Sara

ancient kiln for pottery

We also went to the Picasso museum and saw 200 of his works, no pictures to prove it though. The best site was in the castle in Malaga. Its also huge! It was a hike and a half to get up there and my shins are sore 2 days later but it was well worth the trip up.

this a european roundabout...why dont we have these?!

bull ring

Of course, the beach was AMAZING!!!! so beautiful (: reminded me of home, but with less rocks.

yes it was nice enough in February to wear a sun dress!!!

It says Malagueta instead of Malaga, I'm not sure why. But you can't really see us, but I'm between the M & A, Sara is between the L & A, and nellie is in the U

&& of course, here's some pictures that my mom & gee can appreciate, beautiful flowers & trees that form over the sidewalk

HAPPY VDAY EVERYONE!!!

Since I was manless, us girls treated ourselves...
