¡Viva la vida Española!: Halls && Amigos

The blogging has started to slow as I spend my weekdays in Sevilla, I find myself just sticking to the usual routine of things, school, homework, going to my programs office, maybe having coffee with a friend or intercambio, i need to remind myself to not take any of this for granted and to enjoy it as much as possible while I am still here, so that's my new goal. Yes school is important but the least I can do is absorb the sights and take pictures. The above one is usually what I see on my way to my programs office, its a bridge that is beautiful & although the cathedral is far away, you can see it above anything else...mostly because it is against the law here to build anything taller than the cathedral.

This past week, I got to visit the Town Hall of Sevilla. It was really neat because some of the building is old from the 16th century and some of it is from the 29th century. What's REALLY interesting is that they still actually use this building, it's not all about show and tell here.

This is a universal symbol that I see EVERYWHERE in sevilla which stands for "Nomen Domine" which is latin but it looks like "no me ha dejado" which is Spanish means that you have not left me. Which is a symbol of Sevillas during a time of trouble with Giralda, that Sevillians had stood by the government and now is a universal symbol.

See its in use! The small door over there was originally used for the people who came to ask for things (and its actually a small door to imply inferiority)

This is "botelloning" which is like drinking in the streets with a "botellon" bottle. Everyone does it by a landmark, Torre de Oro, alongside the river, I figured hey why not
